The ancient indoor game of Polo, also known as polo, is one of the oldest competitive team sports. Two teams play the sport, with the goal of scoring as many points possible using a long-handled mallet that is very similar to a baseball bat. Polo involves running, hand-tohand wrestling, and chit pulling. The goal is to get the flag to fall from the opposing team. Although Polo has been around for centuries, it was not until recent times that it became one the most loved team games in America.

Polo began as a game between the upper classes and the aristocracy of Europe. It was first played at Catherine de Mnice’s court. The French soon adopted Polo and began to import French horses. Polo quickly became an international sport between the English and French equestrian teams in the middle of the seventeen hundred. It was a popular sport that could be played among European horsemen. Each country had several teams and it became a competitive sport by the 18th century. It was soon expanded to include polo which was essentially horsemanship between two horses teams. The sport has grown to become a global sensation, with millions of people enjoying it casually or professionally.

The British Journal of the time contains some of the earliest evidence of a polo match. It describes the game as a variation on croquet that involved throwing the spade (a digging tool used for finding holes) rather than using the ball. The time constraints at the time made it difficult to determine if the spade was used in place of the ball, or if the ball was replaced by the spade. Polo is associated most often with France’s court system. The French victory at Epsom in England is often considered to be the birth of polo.

The Italian court system adopted polo as a sport soon. Polo spread quickly throughout Europe and Spain. In the latter half of the eighteenth century, the first polo court in France was built in Boulogne-sur Mer. The sport was then spread across Europe, Brazil and finally developed in Japan as a permanent sport in the nineteenth century. It is now an Olympic sport, with more than seventy countries participating.

In ancient Rome and Greece, the earliest version known to have been a polofield can be found. In the tomb of a Greek ruler in sixth century BC, a version of a polofield with four sides was also found. Since then, polo has been a popular leisure sport that is enjoyed by all ages. The game is played on grass between two teams of two. The goal of the game is to capture the flag of the opposing team and return it to their side.

Polo is so popular that international clubs compete with teams from the United States, Canada, Australia and Germany. British Polo is a popular sport and leisure activity. There are many British polo clubs competing internationally. The number of clubs in the country has increased as the game has become more popular. These clubs may specialize in a particular area of the game, such as short games or age groups.
